Friction Commissioning Party!

Come out and celebrate the launch of the Friction Commissioning Initiative and help raise funds for six exciting new music commissions. The Friction Commissioning Initiative is a platform for generous supporters of the arts to directly support the commissioning of new music. Friction believes in working together with their community of passionate music supporters to champion the creation of amazing new repertoire that will live for generations to come. All proceeds from this event will be explicitly used for commissioning, and as a thank you, all attendees will receive a Friction Quartet “New Music Champion” sticker! Friction will be performing from some of their favorite existing pieces written by each of their Initiative composers, including, Selections from Mario Godoy's String Quartet No.1, Max Stoffregen’s The California Crest, Piers Hellawell’s The Still Dancers, and more.

International Low Brass Trio with Percussionist will be play at the Hot Air Music Festival at the San Francisco Conservatory.  They will be playing a fantastic set and will be premiering two new works, one by me, Mario Godoy and another by Danny Clay.  Come out for a whole day of exciting, FREE music.

Formed in upstate New York, now based in San Francisco, YASSOU BENEDICT is a four piece rock band that makes tightly composed pop music with integrity. Though they employ unconventional song structures and shifting time signatures, they are not afraid to play music that is bold, emotional, and immediate.

Makeunder
=========
MAKEUNDER is a large experimental pop band from Oakland, CA, led by Hamilton Ulmer. The group combines renaissance motet, art rock, 90's R&B, synth pop, soul, & modern orchestral music to craft powerful songs about death & migration & loss.

Gunakadeit
=========
GUNAKADEIT, pronounced (goo-naka-date) is the pop project of Natasha Kozaily, a third culture kid from the Cayman Islands, with Lebanese roots, now residing in California.
